Do you have a home away from home? A second home offers a chance to have some fun, and be a little more whimsical, with your decor. It’s also a great opportunity to let nature steer the course.

An outdoor dining space is a must for any vacation home. Cool summer nights and bar-b-ques just go hand in hand.

Our Seascape tablecloth would be  perfect for outdoor dining. Just throw it on any ole table for a quick update.

These Otomi melamine plates work perfectly outdoors. Melamine is durable and can’t be broken like most dinnerware. Perfect for summer!

A dhurrie rug conveys a sense of casual calm while the blue hue keeps the coastal vibe going.

A garden stool is a must in any vacation home! They can move from indoors to out, double as seating, or serve as a chic side table. The bright blue interlocking ring stool would look great anywhere.

A large piece of art to evoke the sea sets the tone for the whole room.

Go for a darker version if your space is more eclectic.

Plants should definitely continue the trend of bringing the outside in. This makes the transition from outside living space to inside spaces almost seamless.

I would love to see our handy basket shelves filled to the brim with ferns and plants.

Our large seagrass basket would be great with a large fiddle leaf fig. Figs are the perfect indoor plant; easy to care for and don’t need full sunlight!

Here’s my husband and I at our home away from home (aka the in-laws lakehouse).
